Double Page Spread

This was my starter double page. I had not settled on the colour scheme and font type completly so therefore the colours used on the page seemed a bit too pinkish and the font I chose initiallly I decided didn't look as nice as I hoped. The image had to be manipulated to make it seem quite transparent so therefore I used colour select to manipulate the image I also decided to make it quite large as I found out that large images of the artists are a convention of a double page spread.. I also began writing the story. I kept it in columns as it is a convention of a double page spread.
This was my first finished product. By now I had chosen the colour scheme and have found the right font for my double page. I added another smaller image of the artist and wrote a caption in it as this was a convention of a double page spread. I added quotes from the text in bold red to make those pieces of information stand out from the page. I also added a "contiued" sign onto the page so that the audience knew that there is more to the story further on in the magazine. I also decided to use different font colouring to the interviewer and the intervewee so that the difference between people can be distinguished much easier. Final I had added the logo (or brand name) of the magazine onto the page to remind audience what magazine it is, this is also in other magazines that I had looked at and it seems to be a convention of a double page spread.

This was the double page spread that I decided was going into my final product.
I decided to remove the other image as I had to move the text around in order to keep to the convention of a double page spread by having a fold line in the middle. Originaly the text of the story was in the middle of the page so therefore was obscured by the fold in the middle. I also added the page numbers at the bottom of the pages as that was also a convention of a magazine.

Overall I am pleased with my double page spread and think that it is the strongest piece in my project.
