Diary Log Week 1
The first week of starting our projects on the 7th of October, I created a blogger account, where I will upload all my upcoming course work. It will record my process and developments throughout my course work on separate pages and posts. It’ll be easily accessed by other people and will make assessment easier as it’s all in the same place.

Diary Log Week 2
The second week of starting our projects on the 14th of October, we got a brief of our AS Media Studies coursework and were also given the success criteria as well as some advice on our print or media projects that we would be doing and what they should include and what we exclude.

Diary Log Week 3

The third week of our media course work starting on the 21st of October, we began with our preliminary task, which involved, me creating a flat pan front cover page and a context page for a school or college magazine. Then I had to create a mock-up of the front cover page on Photoshop, showing my basic knowledge of Photoshop and design.

Diary Log Week 4

The forth week beginning on the 21st of October, I started with the research for my print project. I had to find different magazines and analyse them I did this by analysing different types of music magazines on their colour scheme, genre, choice of artist on front cover and the layout, this way I can use the information that I’ve found and incorporate it into my own magazine project.

Diary Log Week 5
The week beginning the 28th of October, I continued with the research on my print project and finished it off. Then began to upload all my course work for my first upcoming deadline on the 4th of November.

Diary Log Week 6
The week beginning the 4th of November,I started making a plan for a questionnaire that I would be asking people to find out useful information for my magazine. I did this by thinking up a variety of questions and then narrowing them down to the best 10 questions that would provide me with the best information.

Diary Log Week 7
The week beginning the 11th of November, I created a profile on survey monkey and wrote up the 10 questions that I would like participants to answer. I then sent it out via e-mail, posted it on social networks such as Twitter and Facebook and also gave out the URL of my survey by writing it on a piece of paper and handing it out. This would give me a variety of people answering my question and range of answers to compare.

Diary Log Week 8
The eighth week into my project beginning from the 18th of November. I started analysing my survey results in order to find what my potential customers were looking for in a magazine so that I could use that information and incorporate it in my own magazine. I put the results into graphs to show a more visual aspect of my results.

Diary Log Week 9
Week nine beginning the 25th of November, I started and finished a video interview, which included 4 questions to do with my survey that I did the week before, that  asked people who I was targeting as my audience for my magazine, specific questions that could further my knowledge and understanding of what my audience are looking for.

Diary Log Week 10

The week starting the 30th of November, I was finishing off the editing of the Vox Pops interviews and was preparing to upload them onto blogger. I went through a lot of stages of development through Premiere to make the videos appropriate for blogger, such as speeding the videos up and adding additional layers as questions.

Diary Log Week 11

The first week of December, beginning from the 2nd, I started planning for my magazine. I did this by firstly creating a flat plan for my front cover. This took longer than I thought it would as I took my time planning out my idea and then analysing it further. I thought that my first flat plan was successful because it was very detailed and captured my ideas precisely the way I envisioned it.

 Diary Log Week 12
The week starting the 9th of December, I continued with the rest of my flat plans which were the contents page and double page spread. These took slightly less time than the first flat plan because I rushed them quite a bit. I later on in the week uploaded all my flat plans onto blogger. I am not very happy with my current double page spread so I may, when I have some free time, re-do the flat plan for it.

Diary Log Week 13

The week starting from the 16th of December, I was informed that I would need to started doing research on the conventions of a double page spread and contents page that I will after add to the research page that I had previously done for the cover pages of magazines. Over the next couple of days I will start and hopefully finish the research so that I can upload it later onto blogger.

 Diary Log Week 14+15
Over the Christmas holidays, beginning from the 23rd of December to the 5th of January, I went through all the uploaded work on blogger and decided to edit some of the pieces of work such as, my research on double page spreads and contents pages for the different music magazines as I thought that the first attempt wasn’t as good as it could have been.
Diary Log Week 16
The first week of January (6th of January 2014), I started with planning my photo shoot for my cover page. I will later on in the week do my first photo shoot using one of my friends, who I previously decided will be on my front cover.
The photo shoot went well, however I think that I will most likely need to do a couple of more photo shoots as I want a variety of images I can choose from to use throughout my magazine.

Diary Log Week 17
The week starting from the 13th of January I started doing mock-ups of my cover page. This took some time as I needed to experiment with different effects and designs.

I also did another two photo shoots that week of my friend experimenting with lighting and experimenting with her posing.
Diary Log Week 18
The week beginning the 20th of January I started creating my actual Front cover for my magazine. I did this through several stages as shown in “Magazine Front Cover Process”.

Diary Log 19
The week beginning the 27th of January I started working on my contents page and double page spread. I looked through the images I had taken and decided which images would be appropriate for the contents page and double page spread. By the end of the week I had completed the both pages and made them to a high standard. I then also uploaded my work onto blogger.

Diary Log 20
From the 3rd of February I had started the evaluations of my project. During this week, I had tackled 2 questions. I had made a mood board and a prezi to answer  the questions "who would be the audience for your media product?" and also "how does your media product represent particular social groups?".

Diary Log 21
From the 10th of February, I started and finished 3 other questions for my evaluations. I did this through analysing my front cover and creating 2 other prezi's. The questions I finished were "what kind of media institution might distribute your media product" , "how did you attract/address your audience" and "what have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product".

Diary Log 22
The week beginning the 17th (half term) I finished off the last 2 questions of my evaluations. I did this through a written evaluation and another prezi.  I answered my "progression from preliminary task" question by showing examples of what I have learnt. Then I also finished the conventions question by analysing my whole project bit by bit so that I could have showed each convention.

Diary Log 23
End of project and handing in work. During this stage I made sure that everything is uploaded and it is to a good standard.
